We’ve added a spacer that sits underneath the boot. The bracket bolts pass through both the boot and the spacer, rather than just a single layer. This creates a much stronger mounting point.

Where we’ve marked "1", you’ll need to widen that hole to fit a bolt and nut through. This is the only fixing point that goes through a single layer. All other points are bolted through two layers.

You may need to drill new holes in the spacer. The existing holes were needed for production, not for mounting. Because exact alignment between the top and bottom layers is difficult, it’s easier to drill through the spacer at the same time as you drill the boot.

This method is much stronger than fixing a spoiler only to the top panel of the boot, which can flex or feel flimsy.
